A failed writer ends up working for a cheap newspaper in Puerto Rico where he falls into booze, a shady land development scheme, and in love with a beautiful but engaged girl.
There are some great Fear and Loathing style lines in here. Good humored, good tale, based on Hunter S. Thompson… I loved it.
I enjoyed the movie since it reminded me a little of depps role in blow. He played great and the movie for the first 3/4 was very great. Got a little weird near the end. I feel I could've enjoyed this movie if it was 3 or more hours long. Seemed there was more story to tell but I liked it.
I'm not certain why some people love this movie and others despise it, but I loved this movie. I thought they did a great job at making an adventure out of seemingly simple events.
Not the best acting in the world
I like the plot, and Jonny Depp is amazing as usual, but his costars are not the best. Sometimes the dialogue can be a little strange and some scenes just dont seem to relate to the movie at all. Also the ending was horrendous, Maybe it was based off a true story, but to end like that just killed me.
If you want to see a film set in and about Puerto Rico -- of which there are not very many in iTunes -- then this is a good one.
Even Johnny Depp couldn't save this movie :/
Weird but ok i guess?
I thought this movie was ok. Not the best iv seen. I thought it was kind of confusing and that the plot was all over the place. I thought johnny & amber were good together :) actually thats the only reason i wanted to c this movie cause im a huge fan of johnny depp
Where did all the rum go?
One of the worst movies I have had the displeasure of watching. At one point my will to continue was gone but my anger at having wasted money on the rental made me finish the show. If you are considering renting this movie, don't.
