I like it but I don’t love it
  • How long to purchase?

    By LucidDreamer613
Seems too much for only 48 hour rental when purchase to download will be about $19.99. With AMC headed to bankruptcy hope that the way we rent /view new releases gets adjusted. Otherwise 5 stars for voice actors and promise of a good distraction (& story/music) in these crazy times we are living in.

  • Was worth the rental and buying!

A small perk would have been if you rented it and wanted to purchase later to get like a small credit towards maybe another rental or purchase on iTunes. With that said... $20 was so worth a family night at home to rent and being able to pause when needed (our daughter is 3). The reviews should not reflect if you rented it and that experience, the review is about the quality of the film. My daughter LOVES Trolls. We have the first one, the holiday special, the cartoons— and this was no different. Enjoyable for parents as well with songs we know and aren’t obnoxious to hear others sing since they chose talented individuals for the voice roles. We enjoyed it as a family and while renting I think my daughter binged it until then last hour was up. Was worth the rental to us for her to enjoy it and since she is 3.... that can be a toss up of going to a theater and how often would she get excited and loud and keep the attention. It was nice to feel like we got a new movie during a pandemic and perhaps this creates the new normal of how to watch movies. It’s not the same as on the big screen but a third of the cost to go to the theater and being able to watch it more than once not because we felt we needed to “get our money’s worth” but because it was really enjoyable! Awaiting its release to buy now!

Okay yes, I get that $20 is very expensive for just a movie rental, but it’s honestly not too bad for families. If anything, having a $20 rental is about paying as much to see the movie in the theater with your kids. So if anything, we should be thanking Universal and DreamWorks for using their film to make the most out of a difficult situation. As for the movie itself, the message of getting along despite our differences is a very powerful message for kids. Considering all the #BlackLivesMatter and LGBTQ movements happening right now, I’d say that it’s more important than ever. Other than that, the animation looks just as good, if not better than the first movie, with so much color you’d swear you’re probably taking something. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake still have some great chemistry together, there’s jokes that anyone can appreciate, and the rock Trolls were all very fun to watch. Justin also knocked it out of the park with the film’s soundtrack. The covers were all very solid and the original songs sounded amazing. It really felt like watching the most diverse concert ever from the comfort of the living room couch, and it just leaves you in a great mood. All in all, I’d highly recommended this to families of all shapes and sizes, and if any parents are sick of dealing with heating Into the Unknown on repeat, give it a go just to take a break for a little bit.
