Solitary marine biology student Siobhán endures a week on a ragged fishing trawler, where she’s miserably at odds with the close-knit crew. But out in the deep Atlantic, an unfathomable life form ensnares the boat. When members of the crew start succumbing to a strange infection, Siobhán must overcome her alienation and win the crew’s trust, before everyone is lost.

I thought the story was well told and we really enjoyed it. Good acting, interesting plot.

Waste of time and money to rent.
  • Dull and plodding

Take the money you planned to spend on this movie, invest it in a good quality interior paint, apply it to whichever wall in your house needs a refresh... then sit back and watch the paint dry. You’ll have a more exciting evening that way than you will if you spend your money watching this dud.

This is by far the most boring cheap and worst acted movie I have seen in a while and believe me I see tons of movies. Please stay away and do not waste your time. I can’t even start to understand where does rotten tomatoes 86 comes from.
  • Solid Sci-fi Horror

I'm not sure I understand the negative reviews here. Unlike other, recent sci-fi horror films (Vivarium, for example), I found this one constantly engaging, though I do enjoy a good movie set on a boat. I also enjoy creature features that aren't campy. I'm not convinced of much of the science used in the film, at least they tried. As ridiculous as it all is, at least it kept me interested. Once again, however, I think the critics liked this movie because of its political resonance and relation to the CoV-19 pandemic. It's unfortunate that this movie will get lumped in with other politically-charged fare, because this movie was made before all Hell broke loose, and it doesn't have an ounce of politics in it.

This movie was surprisingly pretty darn good.
  • Why?

The only reason I wanted to watch this is because Dougray Scott is in it. This could have been a really good horror movie. It just lost me half way. It felt like they were trying to push PETA and the whole self quarantine. But it just didn't make since to me. Yes they could self quarantine but get to shore first and call for help. Get someone who could like look at them and they might have found a way to kill the parasite. But nope let me (at least she was a red head) break the boat so they are stuck at sea. And then try to save the animal instead cause it just trying to live. ugh Why can't I just find a good horror movie to watch.
