Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his baby daughter are the last survivors of a damned and dangerous mission to the outer reaches of the solar system. The crew—death-row inmates led by a doctor (Juliette Binoche) with sinister motives—has vanished. As the mystery of what happened onboard the ship is unraveled, father and daughter must rely on each other to survive as they hurtle toward the oblivion of a black hole. A staggering and primal film about love and intimacy, suffused with anguished memories of a lost Earth, High Life is a haunting, thrilling achievement from visionary director Claire Denis.

  • Gave Up

I’m a huge sci-fi fan, and I tried to push through but nothing in the beginning made me want to keep watching. More specifically, a large portion of the beginning is a baby crying which was just brutal and really started to be grating. It felt like this movie needed better editing. Just utterly boring and unpleasant to watch / hear.

Don’t spend any money on this art house disaster. Just watch Interstellar again. Really, any other movie in space is better than this. It’s also on prime

I generally agree with most critics, and I love a good indie, low budget art house film when you aren’t left completely baffled by what you just saw. Such is the case with “High Life”, a low energy, barely auditory film that’s so hard to make out what characters are saying to each other. Pattinson essentially mumbles the entire time. I’d have to say this was some pretty pretentious high-art drivel. Not to mention the science and logic behind a lot of things in this film simply do not make sense. Even the scaling is off with the main ship and the pods they use to go into the black hole. I’d skip this and watch “Interstellar”, “Sunshine” and “Moon”. You won’t feel the guilt of time wasted by watching those instead 👎🏼👎🏼
  • Just horrible

Don’t waste a dollar on this.
  • Apparently anyone can make movies

This movie was so bad, and got funded. If people this untalented can make movies, I should probably try as well. We were roasting every bit of awful dialogue and ridiculous scene of this movie by the halfway point. I cannot believe any sentient being would write such a piece of crap. We were really just more stunned than anything, and not in a good way. A real eye-roller.
